French 7: In class open book assignment in French Thursday Feb 3. It is simiular to the first but to be done without assistance. Test will be Feb 8th. Same format but no books, learn the vocab, practice answering questions and learn the verb endings.

English 7: Underground to Canada assignment will start to take shape thid Your first 6 panals will be finished this week. This is  an important assignment. Edit your classwork so you can transfer it. This novel study is equal value to a unit test. All classwork should be up to date chapter 10.


Grade 9: Test on Friday, know theme, symbolism character and look over your questions. You will have your books for the theme and character question only!

Grade 7 English: All Underground to Canada Literature Circle work is due in next Tuesday to be graded. Make sure your work is well edited. Important mark for report cards.

Grade 7 French: Quiz on restaurant words postponed until Monday. Most students passed in their assignment. Those that did not will stay next Monday after school unless it is in to me before then. (anyone who was absent yesterday has a day's grace. Important mark for report card.

Grade 9: Portfolio work due in tomorrow. Important mark for report card.

Both grade 7 classes have a french assignment due Wed Jan 26th. They should have all the necessary information to complete the assignment in their folders. All sheets/similar sheets were done over the past month. The 7-1's will get it tomorrow.
 Both grade 7 classes will get their first literature circle mark tomorrow. They also have a terms test tomorrow. Review guys!

Grade 9. Worked on theme today and remember your portfolio is due in next Friday.

Grade 9: Have forbidden city notes and symbolism completed for next class we are moving on.


Grade 7: Parents please consider helping your child develop better study habits. I am trying to show them some good study strategies and have asked them to get someone at home to quiz them on their terms,verbs answers etc... a few nights before every test. Get involved let them know you value their learning! Many of them are having difficulty on their tests and for some of them, better study habits and getting the homework done will help. If you work odd hours or are  unsure of what to do encourage them to look for help from classmates. Perhaps they could arrange some quiz time by phone.

Thanks and remember you have an English terms test this Friday and a French vocab test next Friday.

Also French 7 some students slacked off towards the end of class and did not get their menu sheets done. I wanted them to try it on their own with some guidance from group members but I did not want them to copy. Make sure it is done for tomorrow! Otherwise your behaviour will be reported.

7-1 and 7-2 classes have chpt 3 working group activities to finish for tomorrow. If it is not done students will have to remain after school and take the late bus home.

Gr. 9: Homework Forbidden City Portfolio is due Friday January 28th. Your portfolio should include chapter questions, final copy of character essay, Completed Forbidden City Notes Sheet, Symbolism sheet, Final copy of the theme essay.
